Aviara is a residential and resort neighborhood in the southern part of Carlsbad that began development in 1989. The community is set in the hills of southern Carlsbad, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Batiquitos Lagoon. The community is mostly residential, except for the Park Hyatt Resort and the world famous Aviara Golf and Country Club.
